Goebel IMS has reported record turnover in 2015 following the successful merger of Germany’s Goebel and Italy’s IMS earlier this year.

Goebel and IMS merged their activities to enhance their positions in the slitter rewinder market. This merger resulted in numerous synergies such as the strengthening of international sales channels, reinforced customer services and an enlarged product portfolio for its customers worldwide.

Both companies have now successfully grown together with the result that Goebel IMS realized the highest turnover in the companies’ histories. This record turnover was achieved by receiving several orders from the alufoil, film, tobacco, aseptic packaging, as well as pulp and paper industries.

Goebel IMS reported increasing demand for its customized slitting and winding options for the converting of paper and board, particularly in Asia. China’s Gold Huasheng Paper Mill, part of the paper group Asia Pulp & Paper, was supplied with two RA 2 slitter rewinders for the converting of technical delicate papers. For customers from the alufoil industry, among them one of the global tier-one manufacturers of flexible packaging and labels, Goebel IMS delivered four K 100 embossing machines to China and Greece.

The 100th Monoslit, a slitter rewinder for the converting of a wide range of films such as BOPP, BOPP, BOPET and OPET, was sold and commissioned at PT Argha Karya Prima Industry Tbk in Indonesia. 2015 also saw Goebel IMS receive a record single order, worth almost 10 million EUR (10.8 million USD). This saw long-time partner and customer Zhejiang HuaFeng Paper Technology order nine machines, seven Optima Z and two U 16s series models, for cigarette paper production in China.

‘Achievements like these prove that we are not only providing good products and services to our customers at Goebel IMS; our promise is to turn each customer’s needs into high-tech, high-performing slitting and winding solutions,’ said Daniele Vaglietti, CEO of the IMS Deltamatic Group.

Goebel IMS is to introduce a new corporate slogan, ‘Converting Ideas’, which, said group marketing manager Kerstin Stumpf-Trautmann, ‘illustrates our brand promise.

‘To understand our customers and turn good ideas into performance through innovative technologies and a wide portfolio of machines and a full set of solutions.’
